Submission Forms
Genomnz™ is unable to accept any samples that are not accompanied by an official submission form. Please take the time to read the submission information carefully.
The appropriate submission form can be printed or, if you contact the Genomnz™ laboratory, we can email or fax the forms to you. Please make it clear on the submission form what work you would like us to carry out. We will contact you promptly if, for any reason, we are unable to perform the work you have requested.
Service Required
Genomnz™ will report results to the email address provided on the submission form. If you prefer, hardcopies of the results can be posted and/or faxed to you, please indicate this on the submission form.
Animal Information
Please complete the animal information section as fully as possible. Genomnz™ prefers to have animal information submitted electronically. To do this you can either:
- Download our excel file for submission of animal information (Dairy Cattle, Booroola, Deer, Other), fill it in, and email it to us, or;
- Email us your own excel file using the headings on the submission form as a guide to what information we require.
It is important to fill out all the required fields on the form, otherwise we may not have enough information to uniquely identify the animals on our database.
For any parentage analysis, Genomnz™ needs to know all the potential parents that we are testing your samples against. Please fill out the Dam ID and Sire ID columns on the form or if you have a list of possible parents, include them on a separate sheet of paper if necessary. Failure to provide sufficient information may delay delivery of your results.
If you expect that Genomnz™ already has DNA profiles on our database for the sires and dams you have used, please contact us to confirm this. You can give us a call to discuss your requirements or email us a list of potential sires and dams.
For large orders, it is recommended that you supply a list of all the sires and dams used and mating or calving groups as appropriate. This information will assist us to deliver you accurate results in a timely manner. Where possible, we would prefer this information electronically so if you have mating or calving information stored on your computer, please email it to us.
Sample Postage
Please send all samples to the address on the submission form or on our contacts page. If samples are chilled or frozen please ensure you use a courier service.
Overseas Samples
For samples being sent to Genomnz™ from overseas, a permit to import biological products must also be enclosed. The samples will be held at New Zealand customs if the permit is either not supplied or is not current.
A copy of our current import permit can be obtained from the Genomnz™ laboratory. Please check that the permit that you have is not out of date. The expiry date is recorded on the permit.
Please write the import permit number on the outside of your package so that it can easily be viewed by customs and enclose a copy of the permit inside the package.
If you let us know when you are planning to send us samples and/or the package tracking number we can quickly sort out any delays that may occur at NZ customs.

Please notify Genomnz™ of any results that you would like delivered in a certain time frame and we will endeavour to carry out the tests in the required time (there may be a surcharge for urgent orders). We will send you a sample receipt when your samples have arrived at the laboratory.
